Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why local flowers?

Local flowers are seasonal flowers, which means we only grow flowers during the time of year they grow best. Seasonal flowers are healthy flowers, lasting longer in the vase than blooms that have needed to be coaxed into growing.

Since we don’t  grow flowers out of season we can rely on minimal natural and organic methods to keep our plants healthy rather than using insecticides, herbicides, or pesticides. All of this is better for our customers, our farm, and the planet.

How can I buy your flowers?

If you’d like to receive or send flowers in Memphis, TN, please visit our online shop. There you can purchase flower subscriptions, a la carte wedding flowers, and seasonal specials.

If you want to order DIY Flowers, please see our DIY Flowers page for more information.

If you’re looking for a custom floral piece for an upcoming celebration (e.g. milestone birthday, retirement, engagement, etc.) please fill out our Custom Florals Request form.

How can I make my flowers last longer?

Tip #1: Change the water every 2-3 days
Flowers drink a lot of water! Keep your vase full to ensure the flowers do not dry out and wilt. Be sure to change the water every few days to flush out any bacteria build up and help keep your flowers fresh longer.

Tip #2: Trim 1/2 inch of stem off your flowers each time you change the water
Trimming stems every couple of days exposes fresh tissue that allows flowers to absorb more water – more absorption means longer lasting blooms.

Tip #3: Keep your flowers in a spot that doesn’t receive direct light
Sun and heat are particularly hard on cut flowers and can lead to premature wilting. Be sure to keep your cut flowers in a cool dark spot if you would like them to last as long as possible.

Tip #4: Make sure your vase/container is spotless
Bacteria build up in dirty vases and do not go away just because the vase dries out. We recommend washing your vase/container in hot soapy water (or running it in the dishwasher) before adding any flowers.

Do you ship flowers?

We’re committed to promoting locally grown flowers and therefore do not ship our flowers. If you’re looking for local flower farmers in your area, visit the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers or Slow Flowers website.

Can I come by the farm to see the flowers?

The farm is not open to the public. While we’d love to host our customers during the growing season, it’s just not feasible at this time. To see what we’re up to on the farm follow us on Instagram or Facebook.
